Vight for Slack

Your service desk's AI insights, delivered in Slack.

Vight documents every service call for managed service providers (MSPs): transcripts, summaries, ticket notes, and time entries in your professional services automation (PSA) tool. The Slack app brings that work to your team where they talk: AI call and ticket insights posted to your channels, after-hours escalation alerts, and a bot that answers questions and acts on tickets when you ask.

What Vight does in Slack

Six ways the app connects your service desk to your workspace

AI insights delivered to Slack

Call summaries, meeting notes, sentiment alerts, and critical alerts post to the channels and direct messages you choose, the moment Vight finishes processing a call or ticket.

/vight slash commands

Pull a ticket summary, list your recent tickets or calls, update a ticket status, or attach a call to a ticket without leaving Slack.

Mention or message the bot

@Vight in a channel or send the bot a direct message with a command or a plain question. Ask Vight answers from your calls, tickets, and clients, in the thread where the work is happening.

Act on tickets from Slack

Delivered messages carry action buttons. Update a ticket status or attach a call right from the notification, with guided forms for anything that needs more input.

After-hours escalations

When an after-hours call needs a human, Vight escalates through your on-call chain with Slack direct messages alongside email, text message, and phone.

Client alert broadcasts

When a client-wide alert is set, for example a site outage at Northwind Dental, Vight announces it in the channel you choose so the whole desk knows.

How to add Vight to Slack

The Add to Slack button lives inside the Vight app, behind sign-in, because installing connects your Slack workspace to your organization's Vight account. Here is the full path:

1

Sign in to Vight

Go to app.vight.ai and sign in. New to Vight? Start a free trial first. A Vight account is required because the Slack app delivers your organization's call and ticket data.

2

Open Integrations and pick Slack

In the left navigation choose Integrations, find Slack in the catalog, and click Install.

3

Click "Add to Slack"

You are sent to Slack's authorization screen. Pick your workspace, review the permissions, and click Allow. That's it, the bot joins your workspace.

4

Choose where messages go

Vight matches your Slack members to your Vight members by email automatically. Then, on each AI app, pick the channels or people who should receive its results.

The button takes you to the Vight app. Sign in, then follow steps 2 and 3 above.

Configuring and using the app

Exactly what sends a message, and exactly what the bot responds to

When Vight posts a message

An AI app finishes processing

Each AI app (call summaries, meeting notes, sentiment, critical alerts, and more) posts its result to the channels and direct messages configured on that app. No configuration, no messages.

An after-hours escalation fires

If an escalation step has Slack enabled, the on-call member gets a direct message from the bot.

A client alert is added or removed

If a notification channel is set on your ticketing integration, client-wide alerts are announced there.

You ask it something

The bot only replies when addressed: a /vight command, an @Vight mention, or a direct message. Mention it or message it with a plain question and Ask Vight answers from your calls, tickets, and clients. It never reads or responds to other conversations.

Good to know before you install

AI-generated content can be wrong

Vight uses large language models to generate the summaries, answers, and insights it posts to Slack. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify important information before acting on it.

The AI agent needs a paid Slack plan

The Vight AI agent lives in Slack's agent container, which Slack only offers on paid Slack plans. Everything else, which includes message delivery, /vight commands, @mentions, direct messages, and action buttons, works on free Slack plans.

Vight stores your workspace's member names and email addresses to match Slack users to Vight members, and posts insights generated from your calls and tickets. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, manage, and store third-party data.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the Vight app for Slack?

Sign in at app.vight.ai (or start a free trial), open Integrations, choose Slack, and click Add to Slack. Slack shows the permissions requested; click Allow and the bot joins your workspace. The Add to Slack button lives inside the Vight app because the integration connects your workspace to your organization's Vight account.

What triggers Vight messages in Slack?

Messages are sent when an AI app finishes processing a call or ticket (delivered to the channels or people configured on that app), when an after-hours escalation step with Slack enabled fires, and when a client-wide alert is added or removed. The bot also replies when you use a /vight command, @mention it, or send it a direct message, including plain questions about your calls, tickets, and clients, which Ask Vight answers.

Does Vight work on free Slack plans?

Yes. Message delivery, /vight slash commands, @mentions, direct messages, and action buttons all work on free Slack plans. Only the Vight AI agent, which lives in Slack's agent container, requires a paid Slack plan.

Which conversations can the bot read?

Only the ones addressed to it: /vight commands, messages that @mention it, and its own direct messages. It does not read your channels.

How does Vight handle my data?

Vight stores your workspace's member directory (names and email addresses) to match Slack users to Vight members, and posts call and ticket insights generated inside Vight. Our privacy policy at vight.ai/privacy explains how we collect, manage, and store third-party data.

Are the AI-generated summaries always accurate?

No. Vight uses large language models to generate summaries, answers, and insights, and AI-generated content can be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify important information before acting on it.
